Do a search on SEO on Google.  See where the people offering you this package come in the results.

Idea İMatt.

There's only one requirement to understanding SEO, you need to have a big willy and know how to use it  ;D

£200 a month is expensive unless your targeting London or a very high traffic area.

thanks for your input,

£200 would be for an area like surrey i think.
matt, since you are top what would you say is a fair price?

and more importantly how many phone calls (aprox i know you will never know) per month or week?

cheers!

You haven't named the company,
sounds like it could be a company called Local link up, they work this way,
If it is, don't  use, big rip off

iv had a few ring me up with this SEO game. one firm did me a report but it looked like my name was added to somebody elses terrible report

from memory they wanted 800 a year up front  with  a consultant often looking in on my case , i said its crazy money then they backpeddled down to 250 if i said yes now he had special power to let me in cos it was a Friday . my gut feeling is for 250 id get a junior who never would look into my Seo  and how could i complain

Do you mean what is a fair price to guarantee you're top of Google?

yes matt that and how many calls do YOU get out of being top (aporx)

No-one can guarantee you being top. Only Google can do that for you. You can try and you can try some more but there's no guarantees. I get 15 calls a week on average I guess of one kind or another, including gutters.

It isnt my best way of securing new work, but its another revenue stream. Its worth having theres no doubt about that.

I could make some suggestions for you, although I havent looked at your site, but there's other guys on here who could also look at it for you. Im in the middle of revamping all my sites at the mo and could take a lookie if you like. If you want me to spend some time on it I can but there's no guarantees.

e-mail me at info@oakleywindowcleaning.co.uk with your site addy, I'll have a look.

Give you some suggestions.

Matt

Anyone heard of Google Local Business Center? - If you lot who are looking to spend money on SEO have never heard of this then do yourself a favour and google it ;)

steer clear of companies offering SEO - even if you are top that doesnt guarantee work. Save your money, get 30k leaflets done for the same price and spam the neighbourhood - or pay a kid to do it.

Think of your website as a return point, not as a proactive marketing tool :)
