Yes you can but keep the ph to a safe level so as to avoid colour run, have you done any training?

Jamie, what about the oriental rug shampoo?

Ash, the oriental rug shampoo is really designed for high foam cleaning such as when using a rotary like Dave Liahona does. You can also use it with a tampico brush. Colourfast for rugs is more suited to extraction cleaning.

What John said.

The OP mentioned HWE hence the link. Other products are available. This is the one I use for that.

I use the shampoo in my Cimex with Tampico brushes.

Jamie, I'm going to try a Cimex on a rug over the next few days (once I get the right brushes), does it kick up like a rotary can do, or does the action keep it pinned down well?

It will be fine you cover lap the edges without worry. As long as your brush locating grommets are good and the brushes don't drop off when you lift the head off the ground.

Brush wise tampicos create the best foam and are good for silks, heavier Chinese types I use well run in nylon floor scrubbing brushes without a problem (not the yellow ones) even the standard carpet shampoo brushes should be fine.
