I'd say 50% of the new price would be a bargain,.. you might even get a bit more.

don't want to pee on your fire but at that price i would prefer to buy the s-max 40ft brand new.

I have had a few sl2's and find the s-max a much more durable pole and easier to use

sorry the price is fixed, if its sells all well and good, if its doesn't then it will still come in useful and the price of poles will increase in time so one day it will sell.

so gardiners, brodex, ionics and all the other comapnys that sell poles are never going to increase their prices, at the moment this pole is surplus to requirements and a new one is £325 more expensive than what I'm after, is it a bargain, well I don't know, but I do know that my pole will clean the same glass that a new one will and if a cleaner needs a pole and they are short of £300 to buy a new one, well they have the chance to buy mind.

I could of course, rent the pole out ;D

Fair play, hydro, I do find it interesting though how so many accept price rises as a naturally occuring phenomena. The rise in prices is the result of market manipulation and the deliberate de-valuation of our paper currency. The value of the product has not increased, Its the percieved value of the worthless paper we use to purchase said product that has decreased

Hydro is correct in his statement that prices will rise, however the question we should be asking is WHY?

Research Debt based currency. It will blow you away.

BVC you just answered your own question.  Its called inflation and its necessary for a capitalist system to continue

I don't think prices will necessarily rise ... I paid £500 for my SLX35 four years ago - what price a new one?

Yeh, it's all illusory.  We see something as inherently existing, yet when you go to look for it using a bit of intelligence, it's not there in the way we thought it was.  It's quite 'Buddhist' really!  ;D

How old is this pole? I have seen on the Gardiner website that this pole retails at £835 inc VAT. I am looking for a pole like this but only if it's in good condition 2nd hand

The pole is a few years old, but in excellent condition, it has been sitting in the van for the last 2 years without being used, I also have a modular fishing pole that reaches 50' that I have never used for window cleaning, it has been used though for fishing.

;D Ive got a habit of doing that,

Its also necessary for a capitalist system to fail. Inflation used honestly can be a good thing but coming off the gold standard and printing money out of thin air and handing it out in the billions at a negligable interest rates to bankrupt entities with no hope of it ever being repaid is suicide.

Would you lend me 10grand at 1% interest?

BTW I have no money and no means or intention of repaying it. In fact I cant even mantain the interest payments on the loans you have previously made to me.

cool,  they better buy a supermax and I am sure that alex with stop selling the sl2 and the extreme poles soon, who needs one of those, when the supermax is the cheapest.

as everyone seems to think that the supermax is the ideal choose for a pole, despite it weighing 1100 grams more than the sl2, I will take it off the market and keep it, many thanks for your input.
