Citroen berlingo
On my 5th vehicle in 8 years. The 4 before my current berlingo were only cheap £1000 or under vehicles, that I never really expected to last that long anyway, all be it the first 2 should have lasted me longer.
Im in my 3rd year now with the berlingo, which I spent alot more money on, so plan on keeping it for the forseeable future.

ford scolrpio good ... cruising machine
vw transporter brilliant ... 290,000 miles and still at it
ford escort van good ... never had the bonnet up
honda accord average ... leather seats air con another motorway cruiser
vw caddy amazing ... can't fault them ... solid
citroen berlingo van with windows terrible ... used to do pirouettes on slippy roads
renault kangoo van with windows awful ... nearly killed me a couple of times and I'm a slow driver
ford transit foul ... rusted to death spent more on welding than I paid for it
nissan vanette brilliant ... massive payload for a small van never noticed any weight in the back mid engine so noisey and hot
all second hand all went to the scrapyard in the sky except the transporter and the caddy so that tells you something. i also tried a fiat doblo which was ace. I had a fiat panda somewhere along that timeline but couldn't recall when or even why ... all owned by chance rather than choice

I'm on my fifth after 21 years:
Datsun Cherry hatchback (this was my private motor when I first started)
Nissan Sunny van.
Ford Escort
Ford Escort
Renault Trafic.
I did have a Mitsubishi Spacewagon along with the Escorts but that didn't get used for work very much.
I would probably still have the second Escort now but I needed something bigger when I switched to WFP.

Started back in 2003
Have had 4 x Ex Post Office LDV Pilots a 1998 reg, 2002 reg, 2003 reg (6 seater, I have 3 kids) and another 2003 reg six seater.
Cheap but not very cheerful. when the last one died I had only £1000 to spend so bought a 2000 x reg fiat scudo been the best van I ever had, reliable, and less like a tractor than the pilots, and even tho it's smaller than the pilot has about the same load space and can take the same load.
