Title: What is the current climate like?
Post by: Rob_Mac on June 17, 2012, 09:09:52 am
Been working solidly now for the last four months and completed works in Enfield on Wednesday, looking to have a few days off, to catch up, tidy up the gear, get back on top and prepare for any work whilst I am on holiday from Thursday (only a week but it has been a long year so far)

Just had a phone call for work tomorrow and work at the end of the week.

Not just in pressure washing - what is everyone else up to?

Are we busy?

Is the work easy to get at the moment?

Are contract cleaners, domestic cleaners, oven cleaners, picking up work?

Rob ;D

I'm mainly carpet & upholstery cleaning and I'm snowed under with work, I now don't return calls from people who want little jobs doing... I pick off the cream of the enquiries.

The pressure washing side is at about 40% of business but is 60% of the turnover

I think the current climate is great for them that go out and get the work

Booked up till end of August, all domestic's mainly decking and furniture.
Hosepipe ban has not affected us in any way, in fact turned away at least 50 enquiries mostly tyre kickers and "I can't do it myself this year" types.

Still have one outstanding to confirm that will take around 8 weeks to complete around 2k sq mts of decking, full treatment.

The work is out there if you look and can deliver.

I almost had one working with us last week. All he was bothered about before even starting was what time he was finishing. Told him I'll get someone else.

Did you get that Barnsley job I passed you?

I'm doing well, only been going for a few months (domestic cleaning) but turning lots away. I've started advertising again this last week as I lost a regular, had more enquiries than I can take on. Employed a friend to help me out yesterday, worked well. I get all my work through advertising on Gumtree and referring them over to my website.
