Title: Blue 4.6L DI Vessel
Post by: supernova77 on June 16, 2012, 07:53:52 am
Hi All,

I've just got hold of a blue 4.6L DI Vessel.

Do I just put the resin in the vessel itself, or should there be some kind of insert that the resin goes in?

Thanks,
Andy

I have a 4.6 litre Di in my truck - it's blue and I just fill it with resin up to it's shoulder line.
I don't think any of the larger Di units have inserts but I do know that many of the smaller ones have a cartridge.
If the innards of yours consist solely of a riser tube attached to the top then just fill it with resin.

Thanks for the reply...

Does the riser tube go back down OK through the resin?

fill the d i up to the neck then pour some water in the di this will make it easier for the riser to go back in be carefull not to move the top or bottom filter

also do not try to compact the resin down, just fill it to the neck where it thins out, this will leave enough space to stop the resin channeling when you add water and put back int he riser tube, as can give a reading of high tds straight away or a short period later, may make this mistake also do not fill it three quarter full as when it settles it will be a lot less than this.
