Hi guys have you ever advertised this way to acquire new customers?
If you have what was the outcome?
-
Noooo don't do it, front door or garage door free but not insides
-

I wouldn’t do it personally, but there is company who is near us, started to put out lots of leaflets advertising this, interesting to know if this is a new method of getting new customers.

Don't do anything for free!

Free or Without Charge?
There's a world of difference

In fact they are very big company according toothier website, what surprises me is that for a large company why would you need to do an offer like that?
For an offer like that, I am sure you will loos money for the 1st time clean, and if the new customer stay with you then you might be making money after.
Well many thanks for your input.

I am sure theres plenty of work to be had without offering anything for free/without charge.
You would be better off knocking on doors which will bring in people without all these freebies

i offer a free internal clean to slow payers( cash, cheque) who switch to standing order
-
It could work this way .Say the clean is 20 quid monthly which you never tell them at this point. . First clean price 50 quid and get the insides free .Then a regular clean at a special regular clean price of 20 quid,
-
i used to offer a 1 time free clean of the inside of the kitchen window "special surprise offer " but nobody took me up on it. they were suspicious
-
people are very very suspicious of anything that is "free"
yesterday at a very busy car boot sale near me, a lady had a big sign that anything in "this box" (with an arrow pointing) is free...
The box was still full at the end of the day...........
Probably there was a reaon why it was free.....
-
might do a odd single inside window for free for a nice custy
but offering free inside window cleaning is ridiculous, screams desperate and will do more harm to the business than good
-
I won't do insides now. Too fiddly and TOO RISKY don't forget that bit. Going in peoples houses? no way.
I have a few established customers I do from time when asked but no to anyone new.

I don't think that would work well.

Yes to get new customers i believe.

Wow cleaning insides for free !!!!!! NO WAY DONT DO IT .
-
guess its marketing similar to the guy who advertises upvc windows you know the one (you buy one you get one free i said you buy one you get one free) if you ever have a quote of this firm then cost is double + for the ones you pay for to cover the ones you dont ... strategic marketing.... it probably will create interest

Not much point in having customers that don't pay.

is cleaning the insides that bad ?????? please tell me getting as much info as poss befoure i take the jump into window cleaning
-
bad idea IMO.INSIDES CAN TAKE TWICE AS LONG TO CLEAN!!also if its a first clean outside windows will also take twice as long(at least)to get them up to scratch.
you ll only attract pennypinchers which is one thing you dont want in this game!!
plus you ll have to charge one hell of a price first clean to make any money!! :( :(
-
i think youd have to be realy desperate to do this, and if you offer customers something for free doesnt mean they will stay loyal to you after youve done all the hard work, its surprisising how they can soon forget the freebys youve done for them if someone comes in a bit later with a simillar offer or a cheaper quote, there are some loyal customers, but not that many,

Cleaning insides isn't difficult if you can use a squeegee. It just takes an awful long time - moving ornaments, curtains, blinds, and even furniture, and then putting it all back again plus as many have said there is a much higher risk of damage including muddy bootprints on the nice cream carpet :o Best to get a disclaimer signed first, or tell them to move everything out of the way.
We always charge double for the insides, i.e. if the job is £20, the insides are £40 making a job total of £60 - Always spell it out to the customer so there's no doubt, if you just say 'we charge double for the insides,' they'll expect in and out done for twice the outside price ::)

you could try offering your clients either a deduction of there cost for a number of new customers or even free clean (get me 3 new customers get a free clean) but make sure you have terms that customers must be signed up for year but if you have the numbers it could pay off
