just bought a second hand hose reel one of the types that bolt into the floor any tips on best way to go about it do you need plates underneath the floor and under the reel??
-
Drill holes, bolt down, use couple wide washers on each bolt underneath and primer or something for bare metal.

That's what I've done. No point putting any more holes through van floor than absolutely necessary (ie. tank only)

ive got my floor speedlined painted tho

Bolt it to a large, heavy wooden base plate. Section of offcut kitchen worktop is ideal.
You can still get it out of the van when you need to but it'll not move. And no holes in the van.

Does't it leak though? I have a brass swivel elbow which is brilliant once the pressure seals it, but leaks until it is sealed.

Hi Richie don`t bolt through the floor just use the fittings used by plummers to fasten piping to a wall you will be able to pop rivet them to the flooring.

I bolted mine down in my last van richie - hole straight through (be carefull where your drilling)
Then the bolt sat in a piece of metal which is 4 inch x 4 inch going upwards so you can remove the reel if you need to.
