I look at it like this, suite's are hard work and take loads of time compared to carpets, so if i'm going to do it, i want to be paid well for it, some i win, some i lose

i cleaned a suite today the faux suede one i posted about earlier in the week, i charged £80, it did not have any loose cushions and it took me 2 hrs it was quite dirty in the usual place that collect the dirt and the custy phoned me this evening to say it was totally dry ( i left a drier with her) and she was over the moon with the result. i have in the past tried higher prices but not got the jobs so being quiet i priced to get the job and did , i i am happy with £40 ph

Creighton Thats a good way to look at things. If a person moving out of a rental has to have the suite cleaned too i say as long as its not too bad i will clean it with a hand shampoo method(prochem) for an extra £60 or £80 depending on size and can get a good(and no call back) result in about 1hr so i get the carpet clean and for another hours work i nail another handful of dosh and thats getting quite a bit extra work.If its private work then adopt a different tact but even then some can get a great result without a machine with microsplit and towels or the shampoo method again(yes i have a truckmount and a cfr spotter with cfr(proper one) hand tool) but price really can influence what method is easiest to sell............Alan

by the time you drive to a house clean the suite then drive away i ffind a suite will take up most of the morning especially if you clean the living room while you are there.

plus i might have spent 45mins doing a in-house quote before i do the actual clean,  so I need to be hitting the £200 mark to make it worth while as its taken 4hours of my time ... which is only £50hr

I always offer to clean the lounge at a reduced rate when doing the suite,
The time i save on putting tarpaulins down nearlly covers the time to clean the carpet.

Susan I have missed your welcomly honest posts thanks for coming back.

Upholstery cleaning is a necessary evil which paired with the more profitable carpet cleaning but if you don't want your customer to go to someone who offers both services it's something you have to do.

I'm with Billy on this one, and the potential for problems are 10 fold compared to carpets.
Basic suite around the £120 mark with an additional £40 for the carpet if done at the same time.
