Feel your pain m8, same thing happened to us, with vikan brush
didn't notice till was to late, about 20 houses later ::)
Will be interested to here how to lift the scratches.
Been told using cif cream works well, but some body else
told me after 6-12 months, sills look horrendous.

That's because Cif leaves scratches which at first are not apparent. It is only after a few months when the dirt gets into them that you can see them. ;)

Is there anything better to use?

MAGIC get a gardiners sill brush mate and you wont get any more problems!i havent scratched any sills in 2 years of WFP to my knowledge so i cant help you there. ;) ;D ;D
-
are these actual scratches into the plastic, or the grey lines you can leave with the brush stock?
If it is the grey lines a mild - medium strength bleach solution will clean them up with a quick wipe over.
Do not use pure bleach though!!

Gardiner sill brush is great.
problem with vikan hi lo is its very easy to scratch the sill with the headstock as you are cleaning the bottom of the window. if this is the case, and it was the case with us until we spotted what was happening) you need to adjust your technique to stop short of the sill as you clean the bottom frame. however, on the superlite Gardiner sil brush the head stock is a lot smaller so you are far less likely to do so. what is more, the Gardiner brush is so light, that even if you do touch the sill with the stock, you are far less likely to damage it.

Hi magic
I did this too when i started.change the way u clean so the brush stock never goes near the sill.
A sill brush is what u need.
Somebody posted on here to use cif and wire wall i havnt tried this yet but you could try it out on your own windows first.
Good luck
