Title: gardiners poor service
Post by: suds window service on June 12, 2012, 10:08:47 pm
is it just me am i unlucky or do all suppliers not give a hoot about good customer service.
i am having a nightmare with gardiners. waited 10 days for next day delivery, when it comes bits of it are missing, but charged for them. i will have to waste more time tomorrow ringing them to hear the same excuses.
my last order was the same wrong item picked ended up waiting 10 days for that too.
(whats going on their!)  i am cheesed off to say the least.

Problem with supplier? I suggest to call them and sort it out with them rather then complaining about it on a public forum. It won't help you and it certainly won't help them.  :)

Personally speaking I think Gardiner's customer service is second to none out there. Might have occurred once to me that something was missing. Was put in the post same day got it the next day. Might have just been that you've been unfortunate. They are only human after all.

I agree with trying to sort problems out directly and not airing one public forum, but no one would be standing up for the supplier if it was about brodex, ionics or another supplier.

Saying that gardiners customers service has always been superb, and I would hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Tim your missing the point this is exactly the place to have a whinge with fellow cleaners. i have rang gardiners explained my problems. gone through what i ordered step by step and its still short!
this company gets its fair share of trumpet blowing on here some of it by me.
maybe its forums like this that should be keeping suppliers on there toes, to many on here too quick to defend them and that's when customer service gets slack! all i know is the last two visits to gardiners have cost me time and lost earnings.

I think this is the perfect place to point out lack of customer service.

As we all know, it not that problems happen, it's how the company deals with the problem.

Hi suds

Your order for a pole and other components was placed on the Sunday of the double bank holiday weekend. The order was processed on the Wednesday when the firm opened. The pole was made up on the Thursday and the order went out via FedEx on the Friday using their next working day delivery. You should have received your order on Monday of this week. This is 4 working days from order placement to delivery. Most orders get sent out more quickly than this but the double Bank Holiday created a back log of orders needing poles assembling.

Regarding any missing components - I have no record of this but unfortunately this sometimes happens for various reasons and please accept our apologies.  If you rang yesterday to inform us of this I'm sure the replacements will turn up today (next day) or tomorrow depending on the time of day you rang. If I can be of further help, please let me know.

As with any business, things can go wrong sometimes so there will always be a difference of opinion relating to customer service.

Its only the ability to resolve issues that separate the good from the bad.

talking about customer services, the thing I like about Alex and his company he will come into the lions den to help sort it out, that IMO shows his customer services are very good, I cant remember seeing anyother supplier doing this, picking and posting issue that it seems has happened here, cock ups happen we are all human.

Things can and will always go wrong at some point , the double bank holiday would not have helped with this as Alex has already said can see the guys frustration though as it would annoy me too, simple mistakes with the amount of bits we all buy will happen from time to time overall Alex delivers fast his girls are nice on the phone too.

I think the guy was well within his right to post it on here, Alex gets a lot of good feedback from this site but can't have it good all the time, but the way he deals with it shows him and his company in a very good light.

I have bought from places before where the parts were missing and never got them after leaving messages about it,and they never contacted me to check all was ok which would have been good customer relations, they lost my business for this very reason.

I'll check the workshop record sheet to see when the pole was assembled. Can you give me the name stamped on the packing slip?

Hi suds

I've been down to the Office and they have clarified that the order was printed off on the Wednesday ready for the workshop on Thursday (7th, according to the workshop pole records) for Fedex pick up on Friday.  It was noted that you had requested a single trim brush which unfortunately was out of stock so the Office rang and left you a message to see what alternative, if any, you wanted in view of this.  The Fedex label was printed ready on Friday but as the Office had not heard back from you they held onto your order until they got hold of you on Monday.  It's a shame this delay occurred (I presume you did not receive the original phone message) and then was compounded by the incorrect hose reel being sent to you and other items missed off and I can understand why this would cause you to be like you said 'cheesed off'.  Hopefully the situation is now resolved but if not, you know where I am.
