Anyone fancy a Sisal, possibly seagrass pub clean of around 60-70 m2. Not in too bad condition but worn right through in places. Job is in Church Crookham, near Fleet, Hampshire. I only do HWE so not willing to touch it. let me know.

Time for a big skip- I wouldn't touch it with a very long bargepole.
-
i could get that looking brand spanking new.
for about £70 a sq meter. ;D
-
Ha, are you telling me noone is likely to touch it, due to limited results?
-
It would need to be cleaned with dry compound.
It involves sprinking that expensive stuff down ( it's solvent soaked little sponges ) agitate, then vacuum up, vacuuming it all up is a long hard task and it won't have done much. Really IMO it's not worth bothering. Once dirty this type of carpet needs replacing.
I can't see the pic but would imagine it has lots of black stains from beer? Can't see it doing much.

An having it installed in a pub is madness but obviously the owner were not to have known that, poor buggers not been advised right.
-
I told him I thought it was a silly choice (it wasn't him that chose it) he said it's only been down 2 years.
Could you give an average figure you'd expect someone to charge for it? It didn't really look too stained but someone had spilt a bucket of water in one corner and sure enough it had come away from the edge a few cm.

I did not know you was a carpet fitter Derek ;D ;D

Hmm, depends who is doing it, mostly the type of c/cer who is willing to take this on would be the type to charge high, ie a well experienced one, and as such £350 maybe.
Also them bags of compound are not cheap, about £30 a bag and it would need 2 or 3 bags, or maybe 5 bags, perhaps some who does it can offer more accurate estimation..

Update, Ok for larger amounts you can get tubs;
http://www.och.co.uk/carpet_shampoo_dry_cleaning/prochem_fiberdri_carpet_compound_10kg_tub
Your want 4 tubs 4x £40 =£160
So yeah at least £350 probably more.

I have hwe this in the past but only with the express permission from the owner and a written disclaimer and I wouldn't recommend it, but just to say it can be done but you need to be quite daring and own t/m.
The results are actually quite pleasing :)
Have tried sponges & l/m and largely found it a waste of time

It looks like a coir Boucle or a Coir with a Sisal weft. In either case a pain to clean at the best of times and very difficult. In this condition i would leave it as there is too much damage. The dry sponge route is a no no as you will never get the sponges out of coir, especially when its this worn.
Best advice you can give them is replacement.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, not in that condition.

No thanks, there are some things in life that are better to just turn down and this is one of them.

What's wrong with you all? Just get in there and blast it with powerburst, scrub it with a crb, and extract at 500psi.
You'll get yourself a lovely doormat.

It will end up the size of a table mat ;)
