Hey guys,
I am looking to add one of these remotes to my backpack to control the water flow on/off http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-remote-control-switch-2-keyfobs-6A-max-POPULAR-/190685398131?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c65bc4473 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-remote-control-switch-2-keyfobs-6A-max-POPULAR-/190685398131?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c65bc4473)
Does anyone know how to wire it in, I take it I just put the 12v in/out inline to the battery + but will I need to use the ground wires for anything or just tape then up (I know I will just discard the antenna wire)
This is my alternative idea to using an aqua-dapter, for less weight on the end of my pole, I imagine I will also save battery power, water and a lot of bending down to turn my backpack off.
Cheers, Gary

Can you not use an Aqua dapta? I don't particularly like them on every day poles but I have one on a pole just for back pack work.

I've got a remote control for my trolley.
It'll turn on fine but when it comes to turning the pump off, the rf given off from the motor can interfere with the signal, so you can't use the remote to turn it off with the pump running.
With my trolley, I pinch the hose untill the pump stops and then use the remote to shut off the power.

I do all my work with a backpack :s
Tried an aquadapter last week and although it is fantastic and does the job it is designed for, I found it added too much weight to my SLX and because also I use a high grip on my pole, reaching down to turn it off was not time saving either.
So, would I get interference from my pump and not be able to turn it off?

Ross, I know it sounds strange but change the battery in the remote and you should find that sorts the problem. My 1st battery lasted years and now I change it every few months to get full responce. They only cost a £1 each so bargain.

Thanks for that Steve.
I'll give it a go.

Totally agree. Very good for occasional use, but not all day

Sorry, I some how missed that.
I bought a new battery and it made no difference. Pity.
I unwired the remote from the trolley and put it next to the pump in the van and when the pump was running, the remote worked fine. Tried it again with the pump on the trolley, and it wouldn't work when that pump was running.
I think maybe only someone like Ian Sheppard can answer this one.

Ok, I got my remote and keyfobs today.
After a bit of tinkering about, I had similar problems with the remote switching the pump on ok, but not turning it off so good, interference maybe......
So, not really being an expert in anything signal wise, I wrapped my pump up in tinfoil......now the remote works like a dream for both on and off operation ;D
Might just be a fluke, but it works for me, can't wait to try it on a full days work tomorrow.
Cheers all,
Gary

This issue is Defo rf. looked into this a few years ago. There are two types of reciever but for the life of me I cant remember which on you need. Try google I know I found the info was readily available.
