Title: Kinking the hose
Post by: combat1 on June 09, 2012, 07:52:09 am
Hio Guys, lovely day today, typical!
I am looking to use a hose reel, with microbore hose from my backpack in the estate car.
I was once told on a course, kink the hose to stop the water flow.
Is it going to work, kinking the main hose until I reach the windows and afterwards until return to vehicle or will it kinack the backpack pump?
Thanks.

The pump should cut out once the pressure has built up so do not worry about that. If you do not want to kink the hose you could always fit a micro bore stop tap

we have a tap on the backpack hose to turn water on/off you just need to retro fit it.

It stops the flow of water and the pump cuts on and off, have used it like this for a few years without problem.

Kinking the hose is just as good till you get it in the car/van and you have forgotten to turn it off and water everywhere tap is cheap about a tenner all in.
