I had 2 calls last week with 1 converting to a job
Yesterday I had 8 calls and 6 converted to jobs. Normally I go and quote in person but all these people wanted pricing over the phone.
Anyone else like this at the moment.
Phone probably wont even ring today.
-
Out quoting today, but phone not ringing >:( >:( >:(

First week in Jan dead, but now booked up for next 2 weeks, no special offers or promotions, just off to do a suite now and had 3 and a half hours on at 8 this morning. Haven`t even had flyers out, all from local paper!!! Half of these booked on phone and a lot didn`t ask price as referalls from jobs I did before christmas. :D

i can smell something :o thats it cheap prices ;D
-
I don`t think so, wanna see my accounts?? ;D
-
Been fairly steady, a quite surprising january! ;)
-
As with Fibrefresh next two weeks look good and the phone is starting to ring again - did a sick job in a local college today left from before xmas - done with help of a spade, protective gloves and mask, a good job was done ;D ;D - Come on FEBRUARY
-
I was expecting it to be quiet... Nope.
On site quotes arising from nearly every call. Pulling in up to £400 from around a job a day. ;D Taking a few bookings for February. :o Waiting for something to go wrong. Not usually this good for January ???
Don't convince yourself that it's all bad in January. Work the 'little grey cells' and be inventive with your advertising/ promotions.
-
is that £400 A DAY OR WEEK?
-
A day. I'm managing 3-4 days a week at the mo. :D
-
Neil, you got any busier?????
-
Steady at the moment, only have 3 days work at the moment for this week but hope to pick some more up this week.
Sent 10000 leaflets out last thursday so hope to get some feedback from them this week.
-
i really think sending that amount of leaflets this time of year is throwing money away imo
gary
-
Oh Sorry Gary, I thought the idea of running your own business was to get business coming in.
January Leaflets
Cost £112 for 10000 all colour
£20 per thousand to deliver = £200
Total cost £312
5 Jobs already taken since last Thursday with an income of £800 against these leaflets.
Why am I wasting my Money and time?
-
o sorry, but just my ex in over 10 years of doing leaflets ,do lots when its busy and little when it anit ,u get 3x responce on that amount of leaflets in busy times
p.s u posted that post today saying u hoped for some feed back on leaflets u put out last week now u say u hav had 5 since last thursday ::)
-
Yes came in today, Monday has been a very good day for getting work. Leaflets went out from thursday.
-
mmmmmmmmm
-
you are such a t... why stay on here if all you do is knock everyone. Go to the other forum where all the idiots live.
-
Gary is'nt been a tw*t, he's just calling you a liar, anyone with any intellegence would read your post and agree with him.
Mike
-
Why would i need to lie?
Leaflets do work and this proved it whats so strange about getting 5 jobs from 10000 leaflets after 5 days. I did post this morning hoping for a return on leaflets but that was at 7am. So I have been lucky but there no reason to call me a liar.
-
Mike are you still doing the same formula with your deliverer posting while you are working?
Are you doing the same leaflet as last January when you got great response?
Shaun

-

-
January is officially OVER! This week is fully booked up. Next week is booking and I've got some interest for Feb already ;D ;D YeeHa
Is the market picking up or am I just sooooooo good ;D
-
Gary
Do you put any leaflets out in Jan?
-
Hi all,
Not wanting to get into the leaflet arguement, I've got 20,000 waiting to be delivered but I'm a lazy b******! I've spent January doing the odd job and working on my house (only because its too cold to go fishing or play golf). My phone hasn't stopped ringing for the last couple of days and I'm fully booked till late next week. Just shows you when you think its all bad things take a turn for the better for no reason (only kept up regular advertising).
Hope everyones the same or busier!
Kind regards,
Jason.
-
hi ian ,yes i do but the only reason is to keep my leaflet bod happy and hes only puts out about 1000 so cost is min, in my exp from about the 2nd week in december to 2nd week in feb they are not worth putting out, in fact i havnt had call since of them since the second week in jan!!
gary
-
Garry,
While like you I am holding back until End of Feb I do wonder if it is the right thing to do.
-
yes i think u are right to hold back to end feb,i just dont wanna lose my leaflet bod, but i ask all my callers were they got me number so i know i ant had no calls from leaflets since beging of december, and they are all half price flyers ,taking into acount time of at xmas they must done 6000 i recon

-
Hi Terry
hows ya buddy john doing
see you at carpex/windex
-
January has gone quite well for me until today. Had busiest day of the month today then finished off by reversing off a drive into the side of someones new car. Most of todays earnings are now going to be swallowed up by insurance excess !!!! S**T :(
-
Hi Colin ;D yes John is getting Bigger!and Bigger,I will be at Excel in march,if I remember you gave up window cleaning to do carpets, how is it going for you :-\
-
Ist two weeks great, but now gone quiet, down to four jobs this
week, things can only get better.
-
BEST JANUARY EVER
MOST JOBS REPEATS
WHICH SHOWS I MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT
ROLL ON FEBRUARY
-
Phone gone mad again today ;D ;D booked in 450 or so for next week over phone and 2 on site surveys. Not what I expected for this month. Must be something in the air!! This month mainlr referals from December ;D
-
I must be getting senile, or something, as I thought I'd read Alan Brooker saying he was taking around four hundred pounds per day...........then I read it again!!!
Alan, what are you cleaning to earn this kind of money ?
The only time I've taken that kind of money in a day was doing shops, or hotels, but they don't come along on a weekly basis

rob take it with pinch salt mate ::)

Hi gary
Do you offer free revisits with the cleaning or is your price just for cleaning the carpets.
I offer
5 Free revisits with every preimium clean to remove any stains that they are unable to remove with my Master Stain Remover.
Also Free lifetime supply of master stain remover. I dont feel that I am ripping people off because I am offering a very good service, customers return and I have a number on my maintenance plans.
This is why my prices are what they are but I know that the likes of Servicemaster and Chem dry charge a lot more than me in Hampshire/Surrey.
Cheers
Neil
-
Rob- mornin'. £400 a day isn't ridiculously hard to acheive. I market to affluent area's, follow up each job for referals, always visit site to quote offering cust satisfaction guarantee and so on. Not £400 a day every day but I dont often fall below £250. I reckon I do a couple of £400+ days a week. :) And rarely more than 2 jobs a day.
Have a good one
Alan

Although it only banter, please try not to insult fellow contributors.
However if they say somthing you think is wromg feel free to challenge them but in a friendly way as this creates a lively board.

Why not try holiday caravan parks in January?
Most close on 7th Jan until 1st March. Either rental fleet caravans, or get the park to put out your advert to private owners.
If you have jetting equipment, why not do a package deal; carpets and upholstery in January, Caravan exterior, paths etc in March?

Although the occasional post gets some hackles up, I feel this forum has really come alive recently and hope it continues.
Even when offence is taken, a quick apology usually follows and there is a good flow of open discussion with people talking freely.
well done guys and gals
ps.
I detect a little hostility towards the female contributors, which is sad. I know it's been excused, or glossed over, as just joking. I'm not so sure.

good question, is that 400 a day or a week? I am hoping a day!!!!
-
sorry about the few posts but i am new to this and didnt realise there were more pages and so thought my post hadnt made it......Anyway with regards the 400 pounds, a day or a week. Shouldnt we all be making at least 300 a day. If not then are we really in the right business. We should be charging what we are worth to do the cleaning not always what the job stipulates. i market to turn over between 4 and 6 hundred a day and am fortunate to have been able to do this, no reason why anyone else shouldnt either, best, Dave.
-
shouldnt we all be making £300 a day " no not really theirs no set price in the industry for cleaning a carpet u charge what u are happy to live on if u can live on £100 a day and pay u exspence thats fine if u cant then just charge more each carpet cleaner runs thier bizz diff and want diff things outter it i personally dont think cleaning carpets is worth £300 aday but then i came out of a job what was alot more skilled than cleaning carpets and earnt no were near this but this is just my veiws

Liahona,
Do you work on your own? Or do you employ?
Domestic, Commercial, or both?
Regards
-
how do you work out how much you are worth?
A fireman earns £80 a day
a nurse £68
a RSPCA officer £55
a carpet cleaner £3-400 :P :P :P
