Title: Great day gutter/fascia wise
Post by: PurefectWindowCleaning on May 29, 2012, 05:22:28 pm
As my TDS is to high to work on the glass, I thought id put a dent in my never ending list of gutter n fascia jobs.

Was working on the house on the right in the first pic, when the neighbour seen me and asked to have hers cleaned also.

Then a new customer phoned, went and had a look, and landed a gutter/fascia and window job which was just shy of £200.00 (so if my resin doesnt turn up tomorrow, I shall be doing this big-un)  ;D

Hi Carl. The one on the right was for a regular customer so I charged £75.00 (windows, gutters, fascias and con roof)
The one on the left, I charged £90.00 as she isnt a regular  ;)

£75 is way too cheap even if it is a regular customer .

What would or should be charged then, do you not think there I a limit as to what can be charged? Some people seem to think they can charge hundreds and make £500+ per day

I think thats about £100 underpriced. On the other hand if James is happy with that price then fair play. I wouldnt be.

Are you emptying the gutters or just cleaning the outside?

If your just cleaning the outside gutters thats about right.
With conservatory it all depends how big and dirty they are. Just price as what u think you can get away with.
I always think to myself what would i pay for that

These houses are on an estate where I regually clean the windows on 46 houses.

75% of these, I regually clean the gutters and and fascias once a year. (and have done for best part of 8 years)

NOW, FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE SAYING IVE CHARGED FAR TOO CHEAP, DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD BE IN THE POSITION IM IN NOW WITH THESE CUSTOMERS IF I CHARGED THEM THE SILLY AMOUNT OF MONEY YOUR TALKING OF?? I dont think so, i probally would have got 2 maybe 3 customers have me cleaning their gutters/fascias regually if i charged them £200 plus!!

Thats what make me laugh on here sometimes, i would of charged £300, i would of charged £460, no you wouldnt. I think your price james is about right. Some of these quotes on here and you could replace the gutters, never mind cleaning them.

Did a large bungalow yesterday - fascias / soffit + garage door.

Bungalow is normally £25 / 30 minutes.

Charged £75 all in and took about two hours but it was exceedingly hot.

Did it in about 1.5 hours last time.

Thought it was reasonable.

Too cheap?

£90 sounds about right to me as long as the roof wasn't totally minging.

I said i think its too cheap for the work involved looking at your 2nd photo the gutters are filthy and will have taken time to do , when i first started doing gutters / fascias and soffits i would charge £25+ per side , im like yourself james where i do a estate and once a year will do the gutters / fascias on most of the houses on the estate and some conny roofs .
on conny roofs i now work to £5 per panel more if really green and gutters /fascias start from £35+ per side so for a 4 bedroom detached house with conny roof would be around £180 . If youve been doing these for 8 years what price did you start doing them at 8 years ago ?

James
Apart from the price issue.
The gutter you have done has come up good did you use TFR or Virisol or is that just brush and pure water?
Interested cos I got a walk up to the van yesterday and I have to do my first gutter and fascia job.
Thanks
Grannny

@ D S Window Cleaning: Ive always kept my prices about the same to be honest, was slighty cheaper back in the day. I know I could charge more, and might start increasing gutter/fascia job prices a little, but im happy with my pricing structure.

@ Granny: I used the customers outside tap for all of it, except finishing off the con roof and windows, where I used pure.

I agree James, I would probably have charged a little bit more, but my existing window cleaning customers get a fair price - I'd probably up it a bit for one off jobs
