hi got a call the other week from a lady whose carers had trodden oil through the lounge then tryed cleaning it with margerine (old wives tale lol) i use dry fusion and cleaned as normal and it appeared to do the trick but just got call back now saying marks are still there and doing her head in any advice please.

This needs a solvent based clean with HWE. The oil will wick back up unless cleaned right down to the backing.

I have Dry Fusion and on a job like this i will reach for my spotter... some jobs are going to require HWE.

traces of oil/marg are still in the carpet attracting the dust, after doing it again tell the custy it might reappear! you will probably find you have to go over it a few times... :(
