Ideally i would want to use an electric motor rather than a drill
or can you point me in the right direction
really feeling the strain on my shoulders ;D

I'm only a trip accross the m56 in Altrincham if you want to have a look at mine. I use a drill and it works perfectly. I could even knock you up some of the parts if you don't mind a bit of wonky welding.

I thought of buying a winch off of that there ebay?
Works off the battery and everything ;D but I'm just dreaming I'll never do it!

Researched this issue exensively (imo) and although it could be done and would look good. I dont believe you could acheive anywhere near the speed and control that a drill gives. I know it looks a pig but the drill wins hands down. 100m microbore in seconds.
Geared motors
wheelchair motors
golf buggy motors
chain driven
belt driven
Really not worth the hassle. Once you try a drill you will choose performance over looks every time. Not trying to insinuate you are that shallow but I sadly am in this area. If your hose is fixed in the van no-one can see anything anyway, except your hose dissapearing very quickly.
Lithium drill £80 BnQ (lithium coz they dont need to fully discharge before you charge them and very light)
Socked holders 3 for £4.00 toolstation.
17mm socket (i think) straight on to your spindle.
Smashed mine most days for a year and the plastic spindle only just needed replacing last week. £10.00
Had serious shoulder pain now its completely gone.
Hope this helps.
BVC.
