People work on autopilot,  the are a million miles away daydreaming. I had a helper who started cleaning  a carpet without the pump turned on, he was pulling the trigger but nothing was spraying out....but he did,nt notice.

I stood and watched him in amazement, then asked him how it was cleaning.... "fine" he said

I only said Billy trained her as I watched him clean once with his truck switched off and he was doing the same thing, thinking he was extracting. When he did switch the truck on there was not much difference.  ;D ;D ;D ;D 8)
