Title: Polypropylene stinks
Post by: Stewart Hedley on May 21, 2012, 06:35:38 pm
I wonder if anyone has had this problem before, just done a olefin rug and it absolutly reeks, even after it dryed, no difference. I've seen that if it has been overwetted you can get an odour, nothing i can do about that now but surely there must be a way to nutralise this god awful smell

if anyone has any advise it would be greatly appreciated

I can absolutely guarantee you it is not the odour of polypropylene you can smell!

What does it smell of?  Pee smell?  Rubber?  Sweaty socks?

(sounds like a rummage through Billy Russell's wardrobe)

It may possibly be the latex backing. What is the construction?

Hi Guys

If it's a fioshy smell it could be break down of acetate  adhesive.

It's of wilton construction, anyway i've lashed it up with deodouriser and put it outside to dry, i'll let you's know if this does the trick
