Should I connect these two tanks together

Use one of the outlets on top of tank

Then into my DI?
At the minute, the outlets on both tanks go to a Y connector then to pump, and its resulting in the one tank with a quarter left in it.

Either join them or fit a valve to shut the empty tank off otherwise I would have thought the pump would suck in air from the empty one?

James, did you sort out what we talked about the other day ? with the pipes, the pics aint loading so I cant see them

James I said the other day that the problem is the pipes they need to be inline and not like they are this is why you are having this problem mate, water is lazy it finds the easy route always, it have to go up hill with the way your pipes are at the moment and this is why your tanks are not in sync, you should have taps on each tank also

I havent tried that way mate, beacuse if the way im thinking of doing in this post will work, it'll be easyier. Failing this tho, I will be moving the T piece in the middle of tanks. ;)

I havent tried that way mate, beacuse if the way im thinking of doing in this post will work, it'll be easyier. Failing this tho, I will be moving the T piece in the middle of tanks. ;)

You could fit a Hozelock valve on the tank nearest the pump, then when it's empty shut the valve so that the pump can only draw from the other tank.

Why dont you just make a new hole in the tank with pipe 1 going into the other tank and then pipe 2 going to the pump. Simple. Take advice thats given to you before instead of spamming the same message.

ILL THINK YOULL FIND, THIS POST, I AM ASKING ABOUT A DIFFRENT ALTERNATIVE THAN WHAT HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN SUGGESTED, AND WANTED TO FIND OUT IF IT WOULD WORK.

Sorry James I must have read it wrong, the alternative your asking for should be done also with the taps on each tank anyway ;)

Yeah take it back, im not looking to offend. You'll need to join the two tanks first though and then pump from one. The water levels in each will remain the same then.

to be honest I have twin tanks each have a tap on both are connected to the other as you say before the pump,you can pump from both I just have twin feeds

As you suggested Ian, im now drawing the water from the top outlet, with the y peice in the centre and they are now filling up and emptying in sync.
