Like mine on 0.00 ... but sometimes it has run up to 7 tds .... without me checking ..when filters need changing, so it must have been ok...
anyway lets have an honest little poll for fun :D
-
at the mo im running at 000 but have had it as high as 009 before
-
20 or below
-
0.00 but I have cleaned with 7 ppm done on fortnightly cleans with no complaints
-
003 at the moment :D
-
i havent changed my filters in 2 years ??? and only gone thru one small bag of resin, which as now ran out :D
-
Think i am lucky too.... never changed my membranes in 4 years , and never used resin.
-
As soon as mine gets to 1,resin gets changed.
Why risk spots?
-
We let ours go up to 10 then change the resin
-
When on song my 4040 will produce 002 but most days 005 / 006.
When DI gets to 001 it gets changed but may use 001 for a day or two.
It dont cost the earth to get 000 so dont see point in cleaning with anything other than 000.
However Im an anorak and carry a spare TDS meter in glovebox in case a customers wants a demonstration of tap water tds via my tds ;D
-
000
and change resin when it starts to rise 001/002

I tell the lads that anything under 10 is fine - and it is, never any complaints that could be attributed to "unpure" water. Most of them have 300gpd's that produce in the low teens before DI and we have one 40-40 that consistently produces 6-7 and we don't bother with DI for that one.
000 is not a magic number, all you need is water that is pure enough not to allow any dissolved material to precipitate out on the glass as it dries. The is no law that says this has to be below 1 ppm, that's just a convenient benchmark - if the result is as required, the water is pure enough. We've just heard of Ionics "0 parts per billion" - that's not going to make the window any cleaner, it's just a gimmick Ionics have dreamed up to entrap the gullible.

Mines 001 at the moment.
I change the resin when it reaches 015 which is a number I pulled out of a hat.
-
ABOUT 1-3 tds. I have worked with 5-10 whilst waiting for some resin

Good post, I agree. ;)

I let it run upto about 20-25, have never had a problem, infact I waste my time with DI, when I run out of resin, sometime in the next couple of years, I will go RO only.

I hope this catches on, because I can see a marketing angle right there ;D

Try shaking your resin vessel up,you'll find it goes back to 000,I take mine out every week & shake it up,when the TDS does'nt drop then I change the resin,I use mine upto 005,no complaints & no spotting.
Brian.

There should be no spotting up to 20ppm maybe higher
-
40

Used anything between zero and 35. I've used high tds for quite some time and some months ago gone back to 0 or close as. It's simply faster. You really need to slow down on rinsing with higher tds. Whether that's because it doesn't absorb or break down impurities as quickly I don't know. Also, some windows would never come up well with a higher tds. You can get away with higher tds, but it's simply not ideal.

i keep mine at 000 mostly although i do use it up to 05.i just dont see the point in risking it any higher.pure water absorbs more dirt off the glass and frames.oh and did i tell you?i very rarely get any spotting!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
i havent checked mine for 2years :P

If i were in your area i would prob be using tap water! #pikie

just remember to check whats coming out of the brush not what it is going into the tank , it can be a lot higher regards alan
-
I've never worked with more than 002
Andy
-
Zero parts per billion because Ionics says it's better.
-
Ta ! ;D
-
Checked mine today and its at 010. not sure how much longer to use it for?
I havent given the DI a shake yet, apparently that'll bring it down a bit?
-
Start at 000 let it creep up to 005 or 6 and change the resin again.
(I r/o and resin before putting it in the van tank)
