Title: Website issue
Post by: AshWhite on May 17, 2012, 08:43:00 pm
I went to check something on my website, and half the text is not being displayed - all the text from the navigation bar, as well as the captions off the pictures are all missing.

When I switch to Firefox (I normally use IE), it's fine - and I asked my mate to check his IE and he can see it fine too, but I'm a bit concerned that my laptop might not be the only one actually doing this.

Dpes anyone know what might be causing it? I've tried rebooting and it's still the same, and as far as I'm aware none of my settings have changed since I last viewed it without issue. It's been like this since last night (that I've been aware of).

Nope, still the same.

What do you mean about the slider?

Seems good to me too, tried IE and Firefox looks the same on both.

Text on navigation bar and captions on pictures seem all there.

Can you get someone else on the same server as you to try it?

On the light grey bar to the right of the logo, I see it blank, except for 'search' box- is that what you see too?

It may be your IE settings (or something on your laptop that is resetting them).

In IE, try this...

Click on View > Style > default style (rather than "no style").

It's on default style already.

I just tried to loading it on my blackberry (on wifi), and its fine on there.

Text is render by fonts resident on your browser you may have incidentally deleted web safe fonts of your laptop try reinstalling ie and see if this works

A website on the net is not the finished product put just like building plans that tell your browser on your computer how to render the page to your monitor so if your version of Inernet exlorer is corrupt it will not show your site correctly.

Other peoples browsers which are functioning correctly will read your Pages  and render them correctly

Which seems to be the case

It could be IE to be honest which doesnt surprise me one bit. I did a couple of websites and then downloaded the latest version of IE and some of my text was all over the place.

In other browsers it was fine, so put this purely down to IE (they always have issues). By the way, when viewed in an older version of IE they were fine.

Microsoft really pee me off sometimes.

I just remembered that I ran an update a couple of days ago - and I just went to update IE to IE9 and it said I've already got the most recent version (even though I never upgraded from IE*8) so it looks like it might be that which is screwing me over. Mike, what version are you using?

You may need to update a cufon-yu.js file.

Ie does not display some fronts properly.

Ash
I am seeing two of everything but when I cover one eye it is all ok, when I look up from the computer the room is spinning.
Just finished of the beer that I won in the raffle last week.
It will probably be ok in the morning.
