Title: What a tw@t
Post by: H S and Son on May 16, 2012, 07:41:50 pm
I put £60 of petrol into my diesel van yesterday.

Had so much going on recently, family health issues, think my mind must have been completely elsewhere. I drove 5 miles down the road and she started popping and farting and eventually ground to a halt in a lovely sunny, green-gladed lane next to a coppice of hazel saplings. It would have been quite exquisite if it hadn't have been so frustrating  8)

Phone the local garage boys. All credit they came out and had me picked up within 20 minutes.

Total cost was £60 of petrol wasted.

Lost a full days pay  :-\

£200 clean and repair bill from garage, although that included the pickup charge.

I've done similar, and the final kick in the nuts is that you then would've had to go and stick another £60 worth of the CORRECT fuel into your van.

I hope the family health issue thing gets positively resolved too.

Yea the credit card took a bashing today, like you say another £60 in the tank as well as the garage costs and then the leisure battery gave up the ghost today too, another £120.00  :)

Still, its been a bit of a kick in the right direction actually. Ive decided to reformulate some tax issues. I also feel quite a lot of enthusiasm o crack on with my backlog of work now for some odd reason.

Thanks for the comments Tosh. (A friend of mine was found dead in his flat this time last week too Tosh, he'd been there two weeks, I think you know him too Tosh !! )

I did it twice in about four weeks.  Gawd knows where my mind was.  The first time I took it to a garage and they sorted it out; it cost me about £60 (this was a few years ago), and then I remember being narked that I then had to go to the garage to pay for the correct fuel.

And about a month later, I did the same again, but this time I had my car home and I fashioned out a little hand pump from a huge water pistol (piston type) and managed to drain the tank that way; though it took about an hour and I was stinking of petrol.

And then, the kick in the nuts, I went back to the garage to pay for the correct fuel.

Thats on top of Sal's sister having breast and bowel cancer, they're thinking she may also have ovarian as well. Tests will reveal the true extent.

Not far off mate, considering the fuel was £60, the garage bill was £200, so yeah, close what with the days wages  ;)  ;)  ;)

He was a drinker Daz, of that there is no doubt. Real real nice guy when sober. When drunk, no guarantees.
