Title: getting chemical to fascias?
Post by: A Foster on May 13, 2012, 08:26:43 pm
I will be cleaning some fascias and gutters with a water fed pole off of outside tap.

Is there a way of getting virosol to the fascias through the pole or seperately?

How do you guys do it if you need a mild detergeant?

you can use a hand pump garden sprayer with a pole, or a back pack

Heres one i attatched to an 18ft hydra before i got rid of it. Cut the lance in half and attatch the appropriate length of hose required to each part. Dont forget to secure the hose to the lance with a jubilee clip or similar

I have an 8 metre trad pole, I simply stick an applicator into a solution of virasol stick it on the pole and wipe over the area that I'm about to wfp, find it quite effective

Also if u can use a porcupine sleeve on your applicator ,it does make a difference

I use a backpack with some pure water and Truckwash in it - plus a brush that I keep by for such jobs.
Note to self.  Must get a spare backpack.

I've yet to find anything that cleans fascias quicker than DI water. We used Traffic Film Remover and some cladding once as it was covered in oily soot from a nearby generator but is virasol that good?

i use a 5l pressure sprayer with tfr or virosol in it for conny roofs/low level fascias and just spray it directly onto brush for higher outside gutters/fascias.does the job.

Good tips guys.  I have a job on next week and wanted to ask about brushes, I have a superlite dual flock stiff that I put to one side for such a job.  I also might have to use my normal superlite soft on some patches and wanted to know about cleaning the brush afterwards.

I will be using diluted tuck wash, soak the brush then up to the area for a soaking.  Will my normal soft brush be ok with a good rinse or should I use the soft one for windows only?
