Post by: Window Washers on May 13, 2012, 04:38:13 pm
Just changed my smoke alarm battery and double checked it is working, then thought of everyone on here maybe a reminder would be good.

take 2 mins now to go and check yours.

Mods please leave this for a little while before moving it we all need a gentel reminder sometimes and this really could save a life  ;)

Hope your all enjoying the weather.

Mine goes off every time we roast a chicken.  I need to get an extractor fan in the kitchen.  ;D

If you dont have smoke alarms depending on where you live, the fire service will come and fit them for free for you.

Im in Mid and West Wales and we do this for you for free. Check on you local brigades website and give them a call, like Ian said, this could save your lives or family or friends.

I have those, they still need a battery so that they will work in the event that the power is cut as a result of the fire, so they still need to be checked now and then.

great post Ian!!
Just last week in Derby 5 kids died in one house fire!!! they died during the fire all aged under 10!, the oldest (13 i think) is still in hospital and yesterday i heard he is not going to recover!!
Smoke alarms are always forgoten, but should be checked to keep your family safe!
