George is really not that terrible for carpets, in fact, it's perfectly adequate for most domestic work. If you were cleaning carpets all the time then a more powerful machine with a bigger solution/recovery tank would make your life easier, but it's not essential.
Also, I would highly recommend that anyone starting a business does so with a small initial outlay, so you should carry on with your plan as is.
Good luck with your venture :)

Re a decent vac, I would look at the sebo's. German make, very hard wearing and the carpet cleaners swear by them. The rest of the kit you can buy as a job lot, gloves, cleaning creams etc, cloths, large bucket.

What types of cleaning do you want to do?
Start off with some basic domestic equipment, then if theres
something you think you'd like to get more involved in you can look at getting
more professional equipment for that particular task.
as you progress, slowly get better equipment.
Dont expect it to happen overnight though.

Agree, start with little things till you are 100% sure, it is something you want to get involved in. There is no point spending hudreds of pounds and then find out, you don't even like it.
My partner and I started domestic cleaning business and our first and basic equpment was, good hoover, bucket with mop, that's all. Build your way up gradually and consistently, and as mentioned, don't expect milions in one day ;]
Thanks,Adam

You can easily get the list of tools required for home cleaning however you must specify the type of cleaning you would go for. For instance equipment for window clean will be different for those of carpet cleaning. In case of carpet cleaning you must have a good vacuum machine.

when you mentioned George you were talking about doing Carpet Cleaning
But if you want to start end of tenancies or a domestic cleaning or small contracts perhaps a henry would do
You then sub contract carpets to a Carpet Cleaner who has the more powerful machines.
