Post by: Stu Wallace on May 10, 2012, 09:10:10 pm
Hi

How much difference does it make to have a baffled tank?

Thanks

I had a 1000 litre non baffled tank and with 500 litres or more in and it was like driving a boat however i now have a 650 litre non baffled tank and no rocking. It is a big heavy Iveco though. The best baffles are made by filling the tank with 4" pipes

james do what I did
get a 25 m coil of 4" perforated land drainage hose (got mine off ebay about £40 delivered)
stuff the lot in the tank, made such a difference and imo much better baffles than the two you usually get in baffled tanks.

Do you have to put holes in the tubing, or just shove it in as it is?

jut stuff it right out with the tubing mate!! Non baffled tanks are horrible compared to baffled.. By the time ya bought tank/ tubing etc surely it's just worth buying a second hand tank off eBay but if ya on a budget the piping will do the trick..
