Cleaned a polyprop this morning, that had a nail varnish spill. Last guy turned up in golf gti, and lifted a machine that you get in b&q out the back. Couldn`t shift the stain, and charged £50 for 15 mins work, well looking at it. I removed it totallyand cleaned another bed room in an hour. Later while packing up at another house an old dear asked how much to clean a normal size living room, similar to the 1 I`d just finished. Around £60 I replyed. She informed me Chemdry had cleaned it previously with a buffer, on a wool carpet for..........£150. She was not impressed. Do I need higher prices, or bigger balls ;D

Something simular happened to be last week a local cleaner turned up in ford ka charged £45 to remove a toothpaste stain and couldn't !!!!! Then went to a customer who had cd to clean 2 chairs, lounge, around bed, hallway carpet 30 metres all for the sum of £292 with no protector, customer said she was pleased with them but 1.15 mins it was a little expensive in her eyes.

Overheads!
Are you vat registered? If not there's 20% for starters, then there's all the fees they have to pay to CD, chemicals they have to buy at inflated prices, extreme levels of marketing and before you know it he's probably not made much more than your £60

There's no way that it costs cd £90 extra to clean a carpet is there?
The idea of buying into a franchise is that it has branding which should open more doors also the work that comes from head office the calculations of expenditure isn't like for like.

I know all about Dave's pricing policy but then he does deal with some very very expensive items in some very very expensive properties so not a fair comparison on day to day stuff.
Billy Little Blower: Remind me what league Hereford will be back in next season??? ;D
We can't all be plastic Liverpaul, Mooner Utd supporters you know ;D

A bit like groupon then......... except you are permanently tied in.

If they clean carpets only I think they have to buy £250 ish of cleaning solutions per month from the franchise .so there not hit as hard as you think . They have good marketing and do a good job so if they can get a good price fair play ;)
