Title: Wheelie bin cleaning
Post by: david washbrook on May 06, 2012, 02:52:58 pm
Thinking of adding wheelie bin cleaning to my existing window cleaning service I have been asked a lot about this but I know about the legalities about waste water so if I do it I will be getting a professional set up where you have a hydronic bin lift and all waste water is collected and recycled and used again

Also carrying out a consumer research question air in my area the see if their is enough call for it

Just wondering if many of you do it if so is it worth it and are people prepared to pay around £3.00 a clean
Also any other advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Dave

The big problem is coordination. We have three different bins all emptied at different times and different frequencies. You have to be right behind the dustcart to clean them before more rubbish goes in them. Also cost, a couple of quid for one bin is not too bad but three bins starts to get a bit expensive.

 hi
nearly bought around a few months back he carges 1.25 per clean every two weeks charges a fiver every two months up front.

it put me of the small  spend and no flexibility as you have to go bin man day.

he clears 300 a day though so not bad money.

i hear rates of 3-4 pound per lift but dont know anyone actually getting away with it.

 cheers

 john

John I think most who do it professionally with the correct equipment and adhere to the law charge between 2.50 and 3.00 per clean I'm buying a set up and putting a lad on it I won't make millions out of it but it should pay its way leave me with a bit and also allow me to promote my window cleaning and carpet cleaning businesses

So I will have 3 lads all earning their wage and making me some on top  ;D ;D whilst I promote and control the whole business

Na,I'm a window cleaner mate.I used to work on the bin lorries about 10 years ago.I was just giving you a heads up because when local councils become aware of what money can be saved by changing refuse collections to shiftwork,it could be rolled out to more areas. Which in turn will affect the wheelie bin cleaners
