Title: drain jetting equipment needed
Post by: TomCrowther on May 05, 2012, 01:47:49 pm
Hi Guys, I have had a couple of enquiries re blocked drains recently which I have not been able to do. I have some old drain rods but am wondering what I would need to buy to do a decent job? I have a couple of power washing machines { petrol Honda 13hp}. Is it just the drain jetting hose I and a camera I need or is there more to it?
Cheers, Tom.

I started with a drain hose to fit a 13hp pressure washer and to be fair you can clear most domestic blockages with just that - given a basic knowledge of drainage. I would never use screw together drain rods either but thats all you need to clear most buckham traps of interceptors. I after the 13hp I bought an old 18hp Kohler engined trailer jetter which still stands in the yard as a spare in case my van pack or van breaksdown. I got my camera from camscan who are very good at turning round repairs.
Rods etc

Camera

http://www.uksl.co.uk/ - I would suggest the 300 as a start for a look see but I have the full Hard drive / dvd unit and do nicely out of it ;)

If you need any more advice ring me

I think this would be a great 1 day course.  How complicated is it to Learn/Teach?

Some of the companies who do drains don't know how they work  :o One of my customers had a drain repair and they fixed the problem but blocked of the kitchen sink drain and then wouldn't come back? This is one of the things that made me want to offer the service. The same customer said they rang four/five other companies and only one came out when the said they would..
