Noticed Ionics are releasing a new machine that purifies water down to zero parts per billion.
Has anyone tried that level of purity, did it make a noticeable difference?
Thanks

Another ionics gimmick no doubt.
Why bother with parts per billion when 010 parts per million gives perfect results anyway.
Oh and I can't be a&@ed to look at the product as they would require me to sign in.

Given that people clean with 10 parts per million (or, to put it in their terms, 10,000 parts per billion) with no noticeable effects, I guess that's the question answered.

I went on an Ionics course 2 years ago and back then they could do parts per billion.

If you want to look on the ionics site, make an email up on hotmail or similar then sign in and never go back to the email. Then post it on here with the password if needed then everyone can look using the same email without getting all the marketing gumph for the next ten years....
-
in fairness to ionics i signed up ages ago and think had 1 text or email in about a year ... not posting my password though ;)

i use ionics to purify my water and when i did the cource they said that the water was cleaner than 000 but the machine could not register it .but would be interested to see how clean it is,and i have never had an email from them one text with there local guys phone no. would do no harm to look on site :)

ionics have phoned me up 3 times to ask whether i wanted them to demo their poles.sent me a catalogue with their very high prices and a letter about window cleaning courses!oh and a text.all in 3 weeks of signing up to just have a look at their longer poles.i also got DVD off them about all their gear!!
decided that IMO ionics are just too expensive for a humble sole trader like myself!! ;D ;D ;D
000 parts per million is enough for clean windows.

I would like to say , i have had the system fitted for 2 weeks now and the results are out of this world , i was so impressed that i took a few evenings out to get some customer feedback .
They all gave me the same reply , oh , have you done the windows Rich , heres your money .
POINT BEING , they dont care if its 000 grade or LAB grade , if your trusted they dont even notice anymore !
The only thing i ever used from Ionics was the logo ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just get a meter that reads parts per billion and I bet that after resin you'd get 0 per billion for a while too.
Sounds like an excuse to flog resin sooner to me ...
-
Sounds like the sort of readings normally confined to industry. One customer used to work at the Isle of Grain power station and told me that they use deionised water as an insulator and cooler of the turbines. Apparently they regenerate the resin at anything beyond 0.002 ppm to avoid damage to the blades.
Can't see much point for window cleaning though!

They use DI water in a powerstation I clean too for "flushing the turbines",.. the TDS meter always reads 003 or 004 though (parts per million, not billion). I've offered to sell them proper pure water, but they aren't bothered! ::)

The best and most true to life reply to a post that I have read in a long while. Why over complicate WFP window cleaning. I have a set up that is years old, but does the same job as all the latest gear. It filters my tap water down to a level that leaves customers windows clean and streak free. SIMPLES! (no lease hire, no loans, no colour change filters, no ppb) :-*

Just seen it in C&M must say it looks the dogs

There are going to be two new systems, one that filters normally and one that filters to parts per billion, both called zero.
Basically is a complete revamp to a fully automatic system, salt wash back wash and fill. They also have a internal booster pump fitted so you can rapid fill. Now i know most on here don't like ionics because of prices, but the prices are cheaper than the existing thermopure. I like ionic systems and will only buy ionic systems but that is my choice.
I'm not sure if the pro series is-being discontinued to make way for the new Zero. Looks the business I must say.
