Title: Anyone local got an slx?
Post by: colley614 on May 03, 2012, 08:04:26 pm
Just wondered if anyone local has one of these poles. I wouldn't mind meeting up so I can have a quick play with it and see what all the fuss is about. To be honest they sound really impressive so I want to have a go!

Bob I won't be able to get to yours until about 6 if that's okay?

Ian is it okay to catch up with you next week and have a look at the slx and clx?

I have decided to go for an SLX this next week or so and cant decide on 30 or 35. Im new to Wfp and not got many jobs yet but got some potential 3rd floors and velux type houses also would I be ok for any potential solar panel jobs as I'm seeing them all the time. I m using a harris at the moment but will change for clx when funds allow. I would like to be prepared for any high stuff to give me advantage to gain jobs. I see some prefer to move sections and re fit when needed but Im happy to use a  cheaper pole on small stuff to preserve the slx for high jobs. Also is the goose neck an asset for the job?   ::)

waterpauly a 25ft SLX would be ideal for most work.this is what i use for all my work both domestic and commercial,3 storey windows and velux.

there is only a few velux windows that i cant reach with it on big houses/commercial.

im gonna buy a 40ft supermax when funds allow, also i can add a section or two to take me up to around 50ft with this pole if i get a job that requires it.

i think to clean solar panels on roofs your looking at a 40ft pole(minimum).

Daz.
I read your previous posts a while ago on the slx and clx and happy to take your advise on the 25. but if I am limited to 30ft reach where as a 35 is going to give a 40 ft reach, I know there is a weight difference. I only want to buy once a good pole. once I get a bit more work and established a bit better will probably go for 18 or 22 for normal upstairs.I can use the Harris for these now so will save wear n tear on the slx. I printed off Gardners price list so I can compare lengths weights etc.. . I already got some bits n bobs off them in their sale a few months ago and spoke to the girl there who was very helpful and put me right on a few ??'s I had about different poles and removing sections but would need a base section . I dont really want to do that I can just take the SLX when I have a high job to do. and hopefully will last a few years. On the other hand I notice SMAX40 only £50 more and 350gram heavier and 4ft more reach to 44ft....hmmm

waterpauly there are guys on here that have been using their SLX day in/day out for 4 years before replacing them!they are a strong, robust light pole designed to last!!

if you get one USE IT!and get your moneys worth!! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

best wishes
