Title: Canvassed customers - 2nd cleans cancellations !!

Am I bothered ???

NO because apart from the new ones that have stuck picked up another 20% after the canvassing push had finished.

Out of 25 initially canvassed 4 turned out to be messers but have been replaced by 5 customers who seen us working in the new roads.

So when you employ canvassers and have some cancellations maybe you need to factor in the new customers you have gained after u finished paying the canvasser .... fair enough if a high percentage cancel then u have cause to complain.

Its a numbers game, and you have to factor in bad payers and cancellations.       If you keep at it long enough you eventually get a good round  ;D

I remember Dazmond saying when I first started out that it takes 2 years to build a good round .... he wasnt far wrong.

I think that the more confident you become, you tend to not put up with the messers, and target the better quality of customer.

For background, I'm a madman who always contacts customers the night before a clean.

Well, I was thinking about the subject of good rounds tonight when I called because every single one of them said "good, see you tomorrow" or variations on same.  This bit of the round is about 18 months old, so has settled down nicely.

I think the danger point is the third clean.  At that point, I think it suddenly dawns on potential messers that they are in this for the long-term and they cancel.  Only a feeling - I'll check it one day.

Vin - Do you contact EVERY customer the day before the clean? If so, why? What do you think the benefits are?

Apologies for the thread hijack; I though that might happen!

Yes every customer.  90% by text - simple software and a cut and paste message, takes about a minute.  For the rest it's a very brief call (I don't get sucked into a chat)

Why? Customers LOVE it.  They rave about it.  They constantly thank me for it.  Many of them say it's one of the main reasons they called.  It delights them so much I couldn't not do it.  I'm serious; they are so happy about it.

In return, I know that gates will be open, that people have thought ahead that they will have to pay me and (did I mention this) it makes them very happy.

I text all that have a locked gate. That is about 90% of customers.

Likewise I need access to about 80% of my customers so cal, or text,takes me about 10 mins

numbers game, its a matter of getting that 2nd clean out the way it gives you a good idea but i would say more that 3rd clean as perfect said,and yes you do need to factor all these things in , you might end up with 30% of that canvvassed work in 6 months but you might have another 30% of new customers that you picked up cos of that.
