Did this today, using Red rx from Prochem, custy was over the moon. Was also pleased with the results, all they had used was salt, and it was a fresh spillage.
Did also ask them what they had used on their cat wee patches, said I have not seen anything quite as effective.
He then showed me a can of Vanish power foam !!! Aggh

Vanish power foam and all its nasty little friends will remove a lot of stains. No problem.
The real problem is that they will on a lot of occasions remove the colour from the carpet as well, even if they are supposedly Woolsafe approved.
That's the real grouse.
This is where the skill in stain removing comes in.

Nice job M.D'Alcorn. Custy should be pleased.
I went on a Stain course a few years back and I asked the instructor (Adam Jankowski) about Vanish etc making stains worse.
He said stains are like locks, and you have to find the right key to remove them, but some of these products rather than unlock the stain
lock it in.
Like Kinver-Clean says, sometimes they remove the colour, but then I guess the damaged fibre, still with the product in it attracts new dirt, which gets in to the fibre, talking mostly wool here.
Maybe someone can enlighten me more about what actually happens with Vanish, 1001 etc.

Cheers !!
Yes well aware of the damage vanish etc can do, on the urine they got to it quick and only applied to a cloth first and didn't rub it, just dabbed it on.
Said if they had used it on the wine I may not have not had such good results.

So the photos are before and after? They look like different carpets?
-
Same carpet but taken from a distance, as this one shows before extracting the rest of the carpet it didn't look uniform ;D

And if you look carefully you can see the little burn mark from the fire in both the pics, click on view image and you will see it's the same carpet, have nothing to gain from telling porkies

I always try to take pics from the same angle for before & after, and try to include a reference point (a sofa, the tv or similar) just so this kind of problem never crops up. You can guarantee that it does go through the mind of customers!

The fact that it still looks slightly pink should help, but I get your point

looks like a map of australia to me!! ;D
