Title: New pole and brush :) SLX'y
Post by: Afterglow Window Cleaners on May 01, 2012, 06:06:10 pm
I took delivery of my new pole and brush today and finally found out what all of the fuss was about.

I have been using a CLX-27 for around a year with a Vikan brush, it was great, or so I thought....

Got my shiny new SLX-18 today, with superlite brush and carbon gooseneck, thought it was expensive, but wow, what a difference it makes, so light and it allows me to work so much quicker, will pay for itself in no time.

Thanks to Dazmond for his informative threads with great advice and of course many others on here.

Enrol me in the Mr Gardiners fanclub please, thank you Alex and Co, maybe if I suck up enough maybe I'll get another free pipe-cutter to go with the two I already have, would have preferred a hat though ;)

Really though, great equipment

you will be ordering a new brush in 3 months when all the bristles have fallen out . and gluing the clamps as well . the elite pole and ionics brush is so much better , tho the brush is slightly heavier you hardly notice . had the elite 12 months , not 1 problem . and the ionics black brush 4 months , still looks and works like new . unlike the 2 poxy gardiner brushes . i was spending more time rinsing the bristles off the glass than the dirt . both in the bin .

Had the slx18 three weeks now, made a big difference to my working day.
got the carbon gooseneck and aquadapta on it,can see the clamps being a problem though,
a bit flimsy and easy to catch on roofs etc.
on the whole happy with it.

Agree with the bristles falling out getting stuck on vents etc, this is the downside of gardiners brushes, they work well but the need for lite seems to be missing the need for quality at the moment, I will use them untill I find a brush the does not do this, I am sure Alex will be working on this problem as we speak, I bought three andhad to side line a brush after 4 weeks as the end knackered up, the bristles pull out of all of the brushes I have , did not happehn on the black ones and still does'nt (I guess same batch for the three I got last time) will order some more soon but if happens again I will be looking elsewhere for brushes as slows us down chasing the lost ones on jobs, the poles IMO are fantastic nothing comes near YET

HI Ian

In that you do not have a problem with the bristles on the black brushes (which we still sell) it may be that the work you do is more suited to the finer bristles on the black bristled brushes. The standard DT bristle brushes have fatter bristles and this may be why you find that they are catching in frames etc - whereas the finer black bristles are not quite fat enough to catch. Of course it also depends on work methods as most users do not have any problems with the fatter bristles either.

Drop me an email if you would like me to take a look at you issues in more detail than this.

Hi Granny and jarvy

I feel your pain. Give the office a ring with your order number and they will sort something out for you.  ;)

Hi Alex,

when I get the time, I will email over some photos of the brushes and the issues which I should point out to other readers is not a major issue and the brushes work great apart from this little niggle (I am a little ocd about things). My vans are not here right now so dont have them to hand sorry.

We still use some of the brushes daily and will continue to do so.

Credit where credit is due, your customer service is fantastic , and this apart from your poles being the best this is why I keep returning to buy from your company.
