Title: Which CRB
Post by: Robin Ray on May 01, 2012, 04:17:51 pm
Sorry to keep going on about Dry compound cleaning.... anyway.....

In peoples opinion what is the best machine for use with Dry compound in a mainly residential situation.

My thoughts are for the Flexi 5 as it has the vacuum. Doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the Flexi 5 and Host apart from the handle and the cost!! I'm not sure about the TM4 and Pro 35 how well do the renovators actually work? The envirodri looks appealing as it the cheapest but is a sebo up to the job of picking up the sponges?

Thanks in advance

Rob

The renovators work really well.

You still need to do a pass with an upright vac afterwards they do however save massively on vacuum bags if doing large areas of heavy soil.

In all honesty though I dont think we did one job in the last year with dry compound.
Encap products have definately taken the place of it.

Apart Flexi 5 I've had all of the others and the best one IMO is the TM4 I've had 2 and they both crumbled to bits from the inside the best made one was the host.

I have the envirodri but the casings do crack, I just glued mine again and the forum has many posts regarding this, but still a good machine. If I was getting new tomorrow Flexi 5 or TM4

I spoke with Chemspec & Carpetguard who also do a version of the machine.

They both tell me that they are waiting for field testing to end on the new direct drive model.

July was the anticipated date.

I personally have never had an issue with the belt drive flexi5.

The best CRB I have ever used is the Host Liberator but over £4k it should be!

Do they still make drive motors for this machine - looking at buying one that has lost its drive - I realize this is an old topic just cant find much info online

How much dry granular cleaning are you doing Neil? I went through a stage where I was getting 1 a week usually an encap clean but people aren’t asking for it atm I could sell it more but I’ve a Truckmount I may as well use it.

dont think u can buy them now ? didnt world of cleantalk sell a newer version a couple of years back but thats gone too ? looks like there gone ...
having never used one i wouldnt know , but id imagine its a bit like using the old certified brush vacuum .... it works great on a small fraction of the carpets u clean , that arnt even popular anymore ... and slowly get hauled off the van less cause its a heavy bulky thing and something like the  tm3 weighs a feather so il grab that insted ...
might be ok in your rug plant though if u can find one  .
