Title: just out of curiosity
Post by: Alan falconer on April 30, 2012, 07:26:12 pm
Just curious what do you think would happen if you put de foamer in the wrong tank ie the clean water tank. Do you think it be strong enough to neutralize the detergents..I might know someone who thinks he done this today not 100% sure but he certainly didn't get the usual results so he said  ::)

Resoiling and possible slip issue if it's silicone based.

Had this a year or so back in a care home.

Alan best way to avoid this is to suck the defoamer through the wand or vac hoses to  start with.Regards Alan

I was taught to do this years ago but always wondered why, apart from coating the hose

Most plausible suggestion I can think of is that it reduces the friction inside the hose... albeit temporarily as the silicone will soon get washed through.  Obviously friction will "agitate" anything foamy, so the idea is the substance will not arrive in the tank as foam, but as liquid.

Might be complete BS but sounds good to me ;D

I recon Jims about right.
If the anti foam is on the inside of the pipe, as it makes its way to the tank it is being mixed and won't sit as a lump in the bottom.

Dilute in water first then suck through.
