Title: Mobile website
Post by: H S and Son on April 30, 2012, 08:58:43 am
Just set mine up last night for my main site. Does anyone else think mobile site is either worth it or something that is probably excess to requirement?

I like the simplicity of it.

might be a good idea if you dont want a mobile site or would help on your website to have your number in the top half of the fold (top of screen)
just after WE CAN HELP YOU.

Hope you dont mind me putting that, just a tip ;)

My regular site is top of google too. My mobile site doesn't rank anywhere on google. What happens is if you do a search for a window cleaner is the customer clicks on your google link and the website detects you are accessing the internet with a mobile phone and automatically redirects you to the mobile version.

My site is hosted on fasthosts, there is an option in the control panel to set a mobile version up. It costs £2.00 a month.

cant do any harm, alot of people search on mobile devises the more the demand for such sites, and people will get used to mobile sites and some desktop sites seem just so bothersome to use

good stuff  ;D

tell me more on wordpress mate, does my site need to be designed using wordpress, or could I just add the plugin to my original site

Yeah mate, you need to design a new site using wordpress. plus you need to pay to host it. I pay £26 a year to host mine and wordpress itself and all the plugins are free. once you get it hosted and set up, its easy to make changes etc or you can just leave it alone and let it run and pay the yearly fee to your hosting company. I could probably sort something out for you if you want.

drop me an email if you want some more info mate.

it is ok mate I did a few searches and figured that out, to be honest I set it up with yola to preview what it looked like and I was really impressed, so I am going to upgrade and do it that way

Are they any good? Easy to set up and helpfull?

Your mobile site looks good. easy to navigate.

im with wordpress but apparently a seperate  mobile site ranks higher as when you search google from a mobile the rankings are different so looking to get a standalone mobile site.
