Title: hose sizes

right last question of the week ,im on gardiners lookin to order a few conections ,y piece etc ,seems to be lots of diffrent sizes ,,my brodex has a yellow hose that conects to my elbow on hose reel ,this says 1/2 inch so thats fine ,then my red hose which is on the hose reel ,dont know what size that is but its thinner than 1/2 inch then i have my black pole hose which again is thiner than the red ,is all this standard size .example im after a Y piece and there is 6mm and 4mm 8 mm barb whatever that means ,not desparate for any bits yet ,but want to start building up a few spares ,,preferably the right size spares ..any help please fellow clean it uppers  ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

4mm should be the internal diametre of your pole hose they are all near enough the same mate .  But in 4yrs i have never needed to replace a y piece . mike

be careful because gardiners are different from most places, you will prob want the one with the same diamater on each part of the Y. saying that if its one of gardiners brush's you want the Y where the top bits going to the jets are smaller diameter than the pole hose bit. hope that makes sense

agree Gardiners are small on 2 of the barbs, where as brodex are large, purefreedom wcw etc all seem to have a standard size.
Alex I guess does it for lite weight brodex for weight :) and the other because they just follow the heard  :-X

thanx lads i just wish there was a shop like b an q where i could go in and have a good browse around at all the difrent wfp products ,but everything seems to be online now ,im in liverpool so got brodex but its not really a shop  :-\ :-\ :-\

B&Q do a pack for a fiver that has all sorts of shapes and sizes thats good to have in the van...
