hi everyone
i havnt been on line for a while but i could do with some advice, i have a 250ltr water tank that goes in the back of a kangoo van, i would like to use this to wash the outside of caravans, i have a power washer also but i cant get enough pressure from the tank to make the power washer run, i have been told that the only way to make this work is to buy a pump, does anyone know any other way to make it work without me having to spend a lot of money on something that might not bring me any work in, any help would be very much appriciated ;D
thank u

What pressure washer do you have and how have you tried to draw water already?
-
hi
we have a nilfisk power washer, yes we have tried getting water out of the tank but it doesnt seem to work, we did try filling the tank with air with our compresser but still didnt work

I assume the tank outlet is at the bottom, have you bled the air from the hose before connecting to the washer ? Does the washer work ok on a tap ?
-
yes the tap is at the bottom of the tank, i think we tried the washer on a tap but it was to powerful and kept blowing it off, we dont have an outside tap as yet, as far as im aware there was no air in the pipe, we arnt sure if maybe the tank need to sit higher up to try and use gravity to feed the power washer but surely that would have to be pretty high up

Some pressure washers will not draw their own water, the water needs to be forced into the pump.
Is it an electric pressure washer?

hi rob
yes its electric, ive been doing some looking about and im wondering if going for the water fed poles instead might be a cheaper option, i have the poles and brushes but does anyone know what size pump would be better for the size of my tank ;D

Search - they talk about pumps all the time on the "ultra professional nobody uses an ibc in the van only pikey drive cleaners window washing section"

So in your van you have your Nilfisk running off a generator which is a direct feed pressure washer but you have a hose connected to the bottom of tank.
Solution: Buy a petrol driven pressure washer that draws from tank and sell the Nilfisk.
