Can anyone give me an idiots guide to having links to facebook and twitter on your website?

Has anyone an example of how it works for them?

Social media is one of the most important factors for google rankings, if you have a facebook page and post every day, this will help your ranking a lot and if you have a lot of comments and likes fro other facebook users!!
