As i said on previous couple posts im looking at starting up WC, I have been looking at different systems on various websites to get an idea whats needed etc, only to get talking to a man who knew a man who knew a man who but a wfp system as an add on to his cleaning business only to have a bad turn of health and never got using it...
So I bought it yesterday, I got:
A 400 litre upright tank,
Varistream controller,
pump,
80 meter hose and reel,
TDS meter
few bit and pieces connections, strainer,
Paid £350 for all which I think was a good deal!
Ok so still need poles and brushes, by reading on here it has to be either a clx or an slx! then what is the better brush?
Head down this week looking for a good van, any suggestions on which to go for? budjet for it is about 2k and really looking for 3 seats.
Plan is to start next week (7th may) and to gain 200 customers in my first month, so ill be busy!!!

i went to brodex an im not gonna tell you what i paid cos i will get laughed of the forum ,looks to me like you got a boss deal mate ,but hey what do i know :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

200 custys in a month, that would be very difficult but good luck.
-
an for that 200 to be decent custys even more dificult :o :o

My plan is to get 200 customers a month, now starting off I just have to get as many as i can then when i have a bit of a round built up i can start dropping messers etc...
I really do plan on going as big as i can with this and sticking at it.
I'll go down the canvassing route mainly to start and anyone who dosent answer get a flyer in letterbox.
I have two weeks off work from the 7th May so by then need, poles, brushs, flyers, van, and of curse some pratice using the wfp!! and then thats it im out on the job!
I plan on using canvassers paying them a commission on cleans booked (already have 2 lined up) as i wont have the time to do this part when back at work, so ill have cleans booked and then hope they stay regular customers.
If I fire ahead and over next 4 months aim for 200 customers a month after the 4 months i can then pick and choose customers. Then im into the autum/winter time with a nice sized round, paying me a good wage, might be in a position to leave work or go Part time.
So....thats my plan folks, have i missed anything important or left anything out?

Wow Benny hope that all works for you. What happens at the end of your second month trading tho? how will you clean around 400 houses since you will be slow as you'll be gettin used to your WFP .. And allowing for weather etc? Good luck with it tho hope you do it!!! I'm for Dublin soon so hoping it works out too ;D.

I take it you already work full time? If so I think it would be difficult to clean 200 houses if they are monthly. Hope it all goes well for you though.

Yeah ill be aiming for 200 (give or take a few) customers each month which is then 50 cleans a week which i cant see a problem in doing, they wont all be full cleans some might be tops only, some bi monthly and some even 1 off's...
Yeah it will be a very busy couple of months factoring in work, cleaning, rained off days etc but I have it worked out I can manage it hopefully no problem!
I have a couple vans lined up to see tomorrow, have 2 poles ordered, set up a rain water harvesting system today with downpipe running into a 1000l cube tank and with todays rain its nearly have full and has a TDS of 009!!!! So very little resin going to be used!
Im thinking now on a uniform do many of you use them? kinda thinking of a polo shirt/fleece/waterproof coat with my logo/name/number on them

so if you are working full time now how will you manage to clean windows as well . Mike

Yeah im currently working full time but with my job i have 3 quiet weeks and last week in the month is flat out, in the 3 quiet weeks I can reduce my days worked to 2 or 3 each week were I can pick my days as i basically have a work load to do which is normally to be done by the end of the week, so I can keep an eye on the forecast and hopefully then clean when weather good and work when raining etc
Now in the real world it wont be as simple as that I know, but wont be to far off, by September im really hoping to have a good customer base and hopefully attend to the WC full time then, so the more leg work put in now the better chance of that happening
Cant wait for the poles now to get bit of praticing and confidence using wfp...
