Im thinking of storing my pole on the roof rack, maybe using a length of downpipe?
I know a lot of you do this, so how do you keep the pole secure when driving? What do you do with the tubing from the pole? It needs to be safe cos if santa brings me a slx at xmas, i dont want it being pinched ;D

I use to do this when I had a smaller van.
get downpipe with end caps, one end gets glued on and the other is theaded.
with the threaded end you cut a groove a few inches long ( just enough for the goose neck to slide through and clear the end of the pipe and screw the cap on)
cut the hose about half a meter longer than the pole when closed and use a hose joiner or quick release.

I would never put pole on rack even when I had my traffic van I cut a hole in the metal so the pole would then go under the passenger seat !!!!!!!! To many theives out there !!!
