Title: First day out using WFP
Post by: PurefectWindowCleaning on April 27, 2012, 04:57:46 pm
Went better than expected.
12 Houses cleaned. 6 of which were home, so before starting, I explained that im gonna be using a wfp. All 6 were happy and didnt really question it.

Just need to upgrade pretty much every piece of equipment for it, and ill be sorted.

Tank is too small.
No varistream
Back of van not waterproof
Garden hosepipe and reel instead of microbore
heavy pole
rubbish brush head

But, at the end of the day, its a start. All in good time ;D

It will get you going until you build your confidence up - if you trashed an slx you would be crying for days
We use the clx and its a great pole for my small team and not too much of a headache if its damaged in any way.I wouldnt feel the same if they had slx , I would personally issue them with their cyanide pill!!

Yes.
I could only clean the fronts of 2 houses as the gates were locked, so went back in the afternoon to clean the backs once custys was home, and I checked the windows, and they were spot on. No probems at all.

I told every customer today, that if they dont dry perfect then call me and ill re do them. So far, no phone calls  ;D

The SLX is much better than the CLX.

I understand why Gardiners produce & sell the CLX, I don't understand why people use them when for just a few quid more you can have so much an easier life!! ;)

because staff dont look after things in the same way as we do, that to me is the reason I use clx for them  ;)

I'm in Wiltshire, got a used roll of 8mm you can have for nothing if you want it. 100 metres.

Got a couple of nearly new varistreams too (but I'd want money for one of them).

Got an extender pole too if you are interested. Dirt cheap.

James you helped me by various posts when I was setting up a few months ago and like yourself I don't have the funds for all the proper gear,I was thinking of using a normal hose reel untill I can afford better microbore, its people like yourself that are not afraid to explore cheaper alternatives to make ends meet who deserve the best good luck with the change over

I crushed one of the plastic hose lock connectors yesterday by standing on it, so im putting metal connectors at the top of my wish list before varistream  :)

Im glad the knowledge i have helped you out

The most important bits of kit are your pole & brush,.. a CLX is a great way to start, and Gardiners brushes are the best I've used too.

Ive got a rubbish ionics pole and brush that belongs in a skip, but its started me off. 'red star' has very kindly sent me a better brush head, i think its a viking one, so cant wait for that to arrive.
