175gsm , quite a bit better then 130gsm but on some doors if you push it in you need to put your whole hand in but thats dangerous cos of dogs and cats..
should i get 300gsm would that card simply push in easy or would people notice one half hangin out?

Go for the 300 as this looks more professional, and doesnt bend as much.
-
its not only flyers i push through letterbox :'(
-
push em through with a pencil or something of the likes, just not your fingers or tajjer ;D
-
cheers for replys those that hang out a bit do they get noticed as much as in the house?
yea 300 gsm would be better but i got a few thousand of 175 which are fine for canvassing but for dropping not so great on some letter boxes.
so worthless dropping these compared to 300gsm or do people still notice then half out the letter box as much as inside
-
300gsm, thats like pure luxury flier paper
im sticking with 80 gsm, or to keep up the budget firm image i might try a few reams of CREPE paper ;)

You should always make sure leaflets are not hanging out the letterbox, I used to get calls from people who were not happy it being left hanging. Its seems to be a security issue, if a burglar sees leaflets hanging out the letter box all day or days if they are away they know its unlikely anyone is in....

If you have a piece of thin plywood, or perspex about the same width as your leaflet but twice as long you can put that partway through the letter box (inner & outer) and then slide your leaflet easily underneath.
That way your fingers don't go inside - or near cat & dogs ;D

fair comment george,
thing is im going to be hiring a leafleter soon, i cant ask him to risk his fingers can i?
and if he was to put the 175 in the letter box it would scrunch,
maybe half way in those is the norm i do see alot.

The correct method to post a leaflet is to open the letterbox with one hand with your palm facing upwards , and post leaflet with other hand, this method avoids the fingers getting trapped by some letterboxes which are like Guillotines and it will also protect you from dogs wanting to chomp on your fingers.
