Title: Connector for Shurflo Pump
Post by: DASERVICES on January 12, 2006, 12:29:34 pm

  Guys,

Just received Shurflo Pump and just want some advise on connections.

Will a 1/2'' Hoselock tap connector be ok to screw onto the pump and then
attach the hose on the end with a clamp securing it.

  Thanks

  Doug

Doug,

I cut the sprayer from my back pack and just attached a female hoselock attachment (no jubilee clip required) and away I went.

The end of my pole hose has a male brass hoselock attachment that fits into a standard female fitting.

The only problem I've found is that when I want to change poles I have to turn the back pack off first, otherwise water keeps on pumping out.

However a local window cleaner showed me his hose fittings he got from Gardener Poles.  It has a shut-off so that when you disconnect the pole; no water is pumped out and the pump stops pumping.

Here's the link:

I've ordered some.

Obviously you require one to fit a standard sized garden hose (for your back pack) and a male fitting that fits the inner diameter of your pole-hose.
