How many of you stop for 30 mins plus to eat your lunch? I prefer to eat my sarnies and drink my coffee etc driving to and from jobs. I see a lot of tradesmen though pull up and read paper and eat their lunch for a period of time!!
-
Im the same as you KLEAN, eat driving between jobs etc. Just started slimming world again too, so the lunch box is looking healthier...Ohhhh matron! ;D

-
I drive and eat too ;D
Lunch breaks are for the weak!!
-
I take sarnies and a drink with me but eat whilst driving between jobs (and when safe to do so of course!) coz if I didn't I would turn a 10 min break into half an hour or more.
A lot of my work is close to home so used to nip home for food; but taking sarnies also helps me to stay away from home til finished or otherwise a quick lunchbreak at home would end up at over an hour while I check emails and generally doss around; sometimes I couldn't be bothered going back out and would finish for the day - I've now got out of this habit and realised it's much better to stay out and finish early.
-
I usually stop for 15-30 minutes for a Yorkie bar and a Lucozade. I have worked right through the day without a break, but I work better and longer by taking a few minutes at midday.
John.

I eat and drive, if I stop I wont start again.
Coffee doing paperwork at the end of day while in car.
-
Depends on weather and what sort of day im having ;) but usually eat on the go..

Wise words from Bay View there. I used to do that at times and it wastes too much time.
I tend to have 5mins or just a swig of water to keep me going til I'm done for the day ;D

10 to 10-30 and 1 to 1-30 pull over and chill for 1/2 hour if i eat on the go i feel like im having a heart attack rushing my munch

I can't afford to eat while I'm driving because of the price of petrol, these days.

Pop home for lunch every day, well sometimes I go to my mum's if i'm working closer to hers.
Generally fill up most lunchtimes and it's anywhere from 30mins-1 hr, depending on what the wife's made me to chew through.

Yeaaap I eat my sandwiches in about 2min flat on the days I remember to make it! If not there's always a wide variety of biscuits on offer throughout the day! Big hot lunches tend to make u wanna lie down somewhere!!

I used to clean a big detached house out in the sticks, with thick leaded windows inside and out. It used to take me all day, but it was well worth it.
There were always other guys working at the same time, gardener, builder etc.
Tea was served up regularly throughout the day, and at lunchtime we were always treated to a gorgeous roast meal.

Up till last week my typical day was on first job at 9-30 with no breakfast and work through till 3-30 ish no lunch no breaks and prob only 6 hours sleep night before ... worked like this for last 18 months.
Started this week by getting at least 8 hours sleep, on 1st job for 8 till 8-30 with a proper breakfast inside me, break in morning, 20 mins for lunch, afternoon break and working till 5.
Dont think I could do 8 till 5 without proper breaks and a rest midday.
Went thru a phase of drinking monster energy drinks but turned p iss green :o

how in the HELL did you do that :o I'm munching on the go most of the day, sandwich here, apple pie there. If I went without breakfast I'd probably be dead by about 9.15

sorta just drifted into habit as when first starting out with a handful of customers u can take a late start and not working hard no need for rest lunch etc but still did it when round got fuller so bad habit.
did the maths on starting an hour and half earlier and working an hour later makes a difference to bottom line but had to adjust rest and food intake to be more consistent in my workload.
