Same here. Can't be bothered with the hassle, plus, why don't they just give us the info straight up? I. E. The product, its spec and capabilities and we'd probably take more interest......... Or, maybe not. ;D
-
I think they will lose a lot of potential sales doing that, you just want to browse without giving personal info ::)
-
It's silly, same with another well known company.
If I was selling products & had this & other huge audiences sat on my lap I'd make damn sure I made it as EASY as possible for them to view my products!!!
The aura of exclusivity doesn't cut it in this industry!
-
Unger and waterfed pole...
LOL
That is all.

Why do they bother compaired to Gardiners they are in the dark ages.

Why do they bother compaired to Gardiners they are in the dark ages.
Because not everyone uses Gardiners. I'm sure they're making money.
I bet more wc'ers have heard about Unger than they have Gardiners.

totally agree.
The reason they ask for you to sign up is so when the product is launched they can tell you about it, if it interests you sign if not don't, quite simple really. up in forms are the norm for online marketing purposes
-
hate these sites you have to sign up to i just want to have a look not fill forms in first.
-
Just sign up and give them Ionics email address.

I'll wait and see for all we know they could have the next best market changing pole coming out you never know for sure 8) 8)
I will wait until the pole comes out because lets be honest the have the money behind them to compete with gardiners.
If they wanted with the money they have they could do the research for a pole that could be better than all gardiners poles you just don't know :) :)

-
It's called marketing, you boring old duffers, like the marketing done on here. Your drawn onto the forum and marketed too.

Hi Gary
If Unger made decent products they would not need to advertise.
Look at Gardiners they have never paid for an advert, they have an army of loyal fans that are all to happy to let the world know how good their poles are

Yes fair point David, i think the art is to not pay a penny to advertise...and have some good loyal people running around advertising your product, its the way forward!
-
Yea paying for advertising is a mugs game, but Gardiners products are so good they dont need to pay
-
Is that why the likes of Coca-Cola, Pepsi, McDonalds, IBM, Nokia, BMW and Pedalboardvelcro advertise?
-

Yes their all mugs, gardiners has it right, i bet he looks at cocacola, mc donalds, and laughs at them for being mugs, madness advertising.
Mcdonalds boss, could save that, and maybe sit on a fat boys forum and help his clientelle out with their next choice of burger, or excite them with his next months special, the super heavy 1ib er, with shorter amounts of lettuce................ its the way forward
-
Shorter amounts of lettuce?
You could be onto something, there. It could just be the tip of the iceberg, too.
-
Im going to check to see if there really is a fat boys forum
-

A new hybrid burger, that he could call 50% meat 50% other however the crafty lad could realy be putting only 25% meat 75% other, but the fat boys will fall for it!

I bet they wouldn't advertise that, though.

I might give it a try on our website. Force people to register before they can see our phone number. That'll bring them rolling in.

I think you can be safe in the knowledge, that unger will always do well... it sounds right, you reg, you looked so interested, then they can send you info. whats wrong with that?

What's wrong is that they will be missing out on a large audience who had it not been for the fact of "having" to register would have looked at their products- POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS GONE ELSEWHERE!!
Call me old fashioned but unless I really have no other choice I will ALWAYS avoid registering for anything- too many username & passwords to remember anyway!!
-
I find it strange that a huge world wide company like Unger who are totally dominant in trad tools cant make a better pole than a small company like Gardiners, perhaps their new pole they have comming out soon will be something to shout about

SHIFTY strange people on here.

I know you're determined to defend them for some reason but if I did the same thing, namely asking for details before I gave details of my services and my prices, you'd tell me I was mad.
Name any company, anywhere on the WWW (other than ionics, who they are clearly copying) that asks for email details before letting you see what they sell. Drop your blinkers and find one for me.

We must all be wrong.
http://www.ungerglobal.com/pro/landing-uk/index.php?site=21 is the link people have been clicking. Obviously we're imagining the fact that it asks for details before letting you see any details of the new poles.
-
unger make quality products for traditional not wfp and mcdonalds are a franchise bythe way

That link is for the new pole (info link) , the link i put up is for their web site...........no registration needed (unlike ionics)

I can see why people think us window cleaners are thick.

You've been on the forum for two weeks. You're very keen to leap to their defence.
You've also posted "a lot happening in the next two months I've heard." (ref poles and brushes) and
"I think once I get the new unger legend pole, that'll help, as it will look so good" and ref Unger
"cant wait to see that new reasonable priced super carbon pole" also
"they will make sure they no ALL their competitors poles, and better them on cost and quality" Plus
"I'm off to Amsterdam to see the unger, looks superb, leave the extel standing...". Oh, and
"it will be quite interesting seeing the new equipment, will shake up the complaisant suppliers in the uk!"
Odd. Very odd.
Is there something you need to tell us?

Hi Gary
If Unger made decent products they would not need to advertise.
Look at Gardiners they have never paid for an advert, they have an army of loyal fans that are all to happy to let the world know how good their poles are
Before i say any thing im not knocking gardiners their poles are great but the problem is look at gardiners site sold out.
If they advertised they would not be able to meet the demand and if you can't meet the demand compaints will start.
Paul

lots of people probably dont realise gardiner sell poles in 4 or 5 countrys, maybe more now.

this could of course be a very clever business move by Alex ;)
I dont think for a second Alex could not keep up with demand, smart move imo
-
He should put up hes prices in my opinion, look at hes products and prices copared to Ionics products and prices its a joke
-
You're quiet, Gary...
-
Just spotted another impartial post in the Gardiner tattoo thread:
"I'll get one too david, however I'm going to wait till may/June incase a better pole comes along.
Then I can have
Unger logo
Or ? Or ? "

Sorry been busy cleaning windows, due to being a window cleaner, not always time to be falling around on this forum,
Some of you guys have got 27800 posts, do you earn any money, are you providing for your family? Or am I funding you, with my tax?
-
