Been out early this morning to clean an old cotton mill which has been converted into apartments.
While we were doing it a chap came and enquired whether we cleaned solar panels. He said he owned an MOT garage about a mile away and could I have a look after we had finished.
Went round and he has 75 panels covering his garage roof, I have some white cotton sheets in my van which I use to clean upvc with, I tied one onto my brush and gave one of the panels a once over, the cloth was filthy and when I showed him he was gobsmacked.
Needless to say we cleaned them there and then and he has booked us to do them again middle of July. ;D

Can you tell me what you charged him please. Just I've been asked to give a company on an industrial estate a price for 300 panels. You can email if you'd prefer and don't mind on info@oakleywindowcleaning.co.uk

yes how much do you charge?i have a few panels to clean on a small double garage next clean on a customers property.i said £10!easy to reach with my 25ft SLX.shouldnt take anymore than 10-15 mins.i will charge more for large ones on bigger roofs when i get my 40ft supermax though.
also what brush do you use?would a flocked superlite black brush be best?
and do you think you could scratch the solar panel surface if you use a medium mono brush?

I was charging £5 per panel min for small panels going up as they get bigger

So how much would you charge Ian on a job of 300 of them, approx 1.5m x 1.5m dimensions? Who you currently work for.

I charged £2 per panel, each one was about 2ft by 4ft.
75 panels took two of us an hour, after we had cleaned them I wiped a couple over at random with my white cloths and they were sparkling.

I believe that the makers of solar panels recon that they should be cleaned before Winter and after Winter.
So if we said about March/ April to get rid of all the muck that the snow deposits on them and again in October/November, so that they can maximise the shorter daylight.
Thats twice a year then. :)

how often do they want this done ?
if regular yearly and you can do it in a day then £1/ £1.5 a panel I would say is a fair price
Theyve never asked me before Ian, I'll let you know if and when ;)

i think it would be a good idea to get these printed with ideal frequencies of cleans to hand to prospective customers.also when i get another van ill have solar panel cleaning included on my list of services.
the amount of solar panels going up on all sorts of houses near me is staggering!!their everywhere!!could turn into a nice little earner!!need a 40ft supermax first though!! ;D ;D ;D

will a 40ft pole be long enough .for a normal terraced house off the road
